(Implementing Integrated Geriatric Care Model for Strengthening the Primary Health Care Systems for the Urban Poor in India)

BCSF is the implementing partner of this project, implementing the project activities in Bengaluru. BCSF works closely with Institute of Public Health to implement this project.

This Integrated Geriatric Care Model addresses the growing but neglected health crisis among elderly people living in urban slums, where chronic NCDs coexist with largely undiagnosed depression and dementia. The project will pilot a low-cost, digitally assisted integrated care model in Delhi & Bengaluru. Led by the Institute of Public Health (PH) the initiative aims to generate a scalable, policy-ready model for strengthening public primary healthcare systems.

Study on Healthy Ageing

BCSF is conducting a research study in Bengaluru to promote healthy ageing among older adults. Using the World Health Organization’s Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) screening tool, the study collects standardized data on the physical, cognitive, psychological, and functional health of senior citizens.

The research aims to identify early declines in intrinsic capacity, understand the health needs of the ageing population, and generate evidence to strengthen primary healthcare services.
