Thriveni, is a medical doctor, specialized in Public Health and Diabetes Management. She holds a post-graduate degree in Public Health from the UK, a Post-graduate degree in Hospital Management, and  Fellowship in Public Health Leadership from Emory University, USA. She has over 25 years of experience in program management and around 13 years of experience associated with NGOs and managing NGOs as lead/head of the organization. She is involved in health systems research and strengthening public health policy in close association with the Government.

She is honored with the prestigious “Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Award” given by the Bengaluru Municipality/State Government. This award was given as a recognition for the work she has done for the marginalized community in the field of medicine and community health. 

Currently, Dr. Thriveni holds many positions – she is a Director at Sarvagna Health Care Institute, a Non-for-profit trust. As a President and founding member of B C Shivanna Foundation, she started with a senior care center by creating an atmosphere that gives a feel of home to the elderly in Bengaluru. Project Director for Smoke-free Bengaluru Initiative by an international NGO supported by World Health Organisation. Adjunct Faculty at the Institute of Public Health, Bengaluru.
